Congratulations to Dr. Yi-rung Lin on her promotion to Associate Professor

林宜蓉老師，自民國97年起在本系任教，擔任助理教授，教學認真，其教學內容充實，方法多元，教學嚴謹，與學生互動熱烈良好，各科目教學評量成績都保持在4.5分以上(滿分5分)；且課後之輔導更是盡心盡力，循循善誘，深受歷年學生敬重。

Professor Yi-rung Lin has been an assistant professor in the department since 2008. She has shared rich content through rigorous and varied methods, and has fostered warm interaction with students. Her teaching assessment scores are consistently over 4.5 points (out of 5); meanwhile, her after-class counseling is dedicated and patient, earning the respect of students over the years.

林老師在校服務熱心，自任職起，每年均義務指導學生英文戲劇公演，至本年度止已連續八次。該戲劇公演，為本系重要活動，因為本系規模小，人力有限，從劇本、演出、配音、道具、服裝、化妝、文宣、經費等事務，全賴林老師花費至少半年時間不眠不休，對學生諄諄指導提示，鼓舞士氣，雖辛勞備至，但每次演出效果優異，獲得校內外各界同聲讚許，對本系在國內英美語文教育界的地位，大有助益。

Professor Lin has wholeheartedly dedicated herself to serving TCU. Apart from teaching and carrying out research, she has been the advisor to the department’s annual drama presentation for eight years, a very significant activity for DELL. The department is compact, yet the entire process, from script to staging and from design to finance is handled by students. Nevertheless, the drama presentations run smoothly not just due to students’ hard work, but also through Prof. Lin giving lots of attention and time to guiding and encouraging them. Though preparing the drama is tough, the performances are brilliant. The department has received many compliments for these presentations, and they play a positive part in showcasing the quality of DELL’s English education.

林老師另曾於99及100學年度擔任本系系主任，全力投入，使本系行政業務更上軌道，貢獻卓著；目前擔任本校英語教育中心主任，擘劃推動全校英文課程。

Prof. Lin also served as Chair of the Department of English and Literature from August 2010 to July 2012, making an outstanding contribution to the improvement of departmental administration. She is currently the director of TCU’s English Education Center in charge of the planning and promotion of English courses to the whole university.

此次林老師經過嚴謹的審查程序，榮升副教授，全系師生都欣喜不已，也誠摯祝福，希望林老師在學術研究、教學輔導方面續有佳績，嘉惠全校學生。

Prof. Lin achieved promotion to associate professor by passing a rigorous evaluation process. All the teachers and students in the department are delighted by this news and pass on their sincere best wishes for Professor Lin’s continued success in research, teaching and counseling, to the benefit of the entire student community.
